Hosts Sally Nugent and Jon Kay were the first to show off the stunning new studio as they presented the latest news stories today.
But it seems BBC Breakfast fans are not impressed with the new design and took to Twitter to complain about it, with many saying it looked “cheap” and “claustrophobic”.
One wrote: “Claustrophobic new studio!
“Zoom out the background graphic so those buildings aren’t towering over the presenters and get the cameras back further if there’s room! Have they cut your budget?”
A second fumed: “I hate to be that guy, but the new studio is not nice. It looks very cheap, like a channel 5 studio.”
A third complained: “This new design just looks stupid.”
A fourth raged: “Why did they change the other design! They’ve made it look horrible now. So annoying.”
While another posted: “waste of money on pointless new studio whilst BBC absolutely cuts local news and radio to the bones. Very distorted priorities!
The all-new studio is located in the heart of Media City in Salford.
The new TV studio features the latest broadcasting technology including high-tech graphics.
Although it still has the iconic red sofa, it’s larger than the previous space and three more cameras are on hand to capture the best angles.
The BBC says the new look is part of their strategy to introduce studios that can be used by multiple departments.
