I’m a gardening wannabe & I killed every plant I’ve had – now I have a genius DIY plan using Amazon buys
ONE woman who dreamed of being a good gardener has revealed her struggle in keeping plants alive.
But instead of letting her get it down, she decided to take action – and came up with a DIY way to create the green-fingered look on her front porch, minus the upkeep.
TikTok’s Jessica – who runs a home decor social media account – confessed that over the years she’d had “a very hard time of keeping plants alive.”
So Jessica, who can be found at @missjessicanicoleblog, decided to “spare any more innocent plant lives” and turn to her new best friend for gardening help – Amazon.
In a video posted to her account, Jessica explained: “I have definitely killed my fair share of plants on this front porch, so I’ve given up and we’re going faux.”
The video then cut to her taking out some fake stems that she’d ordered on Amazon and beginning to arrange them.
She continued: “So I filled up my planter with boxes to take up space and added these foam blocks on top.
“I ordered these faux fern and stems from Amazon and they came in a pack of 20, which ended up being the perfect amount for this planter.
“I started by adding stems on the outside of the planter.
“And then just started filling them in in the middle,” she continued as she put the faux leaves around the pot/
Jessica then moved onto the final step of the process, as she showed how easy it was to upgrade her plant pot.
She said: “I continued working my way around until all the empty areas were filled in and it looked nice and full.”
Showing off the final, finished result – which could have been mistaken for a real plant – Jessica proudly stated: “I absolutely love it.”
She then quipped: “And I love even more that I don’t have to worry about keeping it alive.”
And her followers were in agreement that this was a great way for non-talented gardeners to liven up their outside space – but without the stress.
One person wrote: “Same with me – great idea!!!”
A second added: “Looks great!”
While a third commented: “Love this, beautiful.”
Meanwhile, someone else added a further tip, telling Jessica to spritz some UV spray onto the plant, as that way it “will last longer without fading.”
