The Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court in India has denied permission for a 15-year-old girl to abort her 28-week pregnancy after doctors found the baby would be born alive at this stage, and could require neonatal care. The move comes after the girl's mother filed a petition requesting permission to abort the pregnancy, which resulted from a rape in February. The court stated that the child would be born whether via "forcible medical intervention or by natural delivery".
