Newcastle United Fail With Attempt To Hijack Deal

The South Korean defender is set to leave Napoli after just one season where he helped them win Serie A for the first time in more than three decades.

Manchester United were interested in him but the defender is closing in on a move to Bayern Munich.

He has already agreed personal terms with the club and the German champions will trigger his release clause in the first two weeks of July.

According to Italian broadcaster RAI, Newcastle made a late attempt to change his mind about moving to Germany.

The Magpies have been keeping tabs on him and it has been claimed that they got in contact with his representatives again.

However, Newcastle are not likely to sign Kim in the ongoing transfer window as he has made up his mind.

The club have been told that Kim wants to move to Germany and join the Bavarians this summer.
