But according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, the negotiations are now at an advanced stage between AC Milan and Chelsea.
After fencing around for several weeks for Loftus-Cheek, AC Milan are prepared to sink their teeth and get the deal done.
The talks are entering a decisive stage and the Serie A giants are hoping to get a deal over the line soon.
AC Milan believe that they will be able to take Loftus-Cheek to the San Siro for a fee of €15m.
It remains to be seen if the midfielder can make a big impact in Serie A along the lines of other English imports.
