The Ministry of Home Affairs has requested details of the need for 485 extra companies of central forces which the West Bengal State Election Commission has requested for the state panchayat election on 8 June. The MHA also asked for information regarding the 337 companies of central forces already deployed. In total, the SEC has requested 822 companies of central forces from the MHA.
