East Bay pets of the week for June 30
Hello, I’m Lilith, a sweet and adorable senior who would be a wonderful canine companion in any mostly mellow household! I have a lifetime of affection to share, so snuggles are of top order. But I also enjoy going for walks and exploring my environment. If tummy rubs and wagging tails sound as good to you as they do to me, we’re a great match! Visit the website of the Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society at berkeleyhumane.org to learn more and schedule a meeting with me.

Meet Chicken Wiggles, a German Shepherd mix with a heart of gold and coat to match. While he may be fearful of new situations, he’s a sweet and gentle dog who craves affection and attention. Chicken Wiggles is looking for a patient and loving forever home that can provide him with the care and support he needs to overcome his fears. If you’re willing to give this shy guy a chance, he’s sure to steal your heart! Chicken Wiggles’ adoption fee is waived, come get him today. The East Bay SPCA offers walk-in adoptions at its Oakland and Dublin campuses from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Kai is a gentle, very timid guy who is currently heartbreakingly fearful. The beautiful 1-year-old sweetie startles easily and cowers at things that wouldn’t faze most dogs. But we’ve seen glimpses of the more confident, playful guy he could become in the right home. He’s looking for a quiet home with patient people (older kids are OK) who could help bring out his inner happy doggo. To meet this pet at Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter, call 510-337-8565 or visit alamedaanimalshelter.org/adopt.

Penney and Todd are 16-week-old domestic shorthair kittens. They are part of a litter of five — all different variations of black and white — and all are available for adoption. They were born in the wild but have never been wild. They are sweet and playful and seem to love living in our foster home. There is no dog in the home so we don’t know how they would be with a dog, but they’re certainly young enough to learn. They’re great around other cats. For more information about this or any other adoptable pets with the Contra Costa SPCA, call Pat at 925-323-0667.
