Furious Glastonbury 2023 fans all saying the same thing after spotting Taron Egerton on the side of Elton John’s stage
SIR Elton John fans have all been asking why Taron Egerton didn’t join the music legend on stage at Glastonbury as many had expected.
The actor, 33, who played the pop superstar in the film Rocketman, was seen standing in the wings during Elton’s epic performance.
Elton was joined on the Pryamid’s stage by a number of a number of special guests, including Jacob Lusk, Stephen Sanchez, Brandon Flowers and Rina Sawayama.
The likes of Dua Lipa and Harry Styles were also rumoured to sing alongside the I’m Still Standing singer.
Many thought that Taron may have also made an appearance – but he was actually busy having fun in the crowd at Worthy Farm.
The star posted a number of snaps at the festival on social media over the past few days, including posing for a selfie with David Walliams.
He even paid tribute to Elton on Instagram.
Taron wrote: “I had no idea Glastonbury was a competition but congratulations @eltonjohn for winning it.
“There aren’t really words to describe how good that was.
“The Rocketman did it again.”
Many were left scratching their heads over why he didn’t perform.
One said: “Why didn’t u sing with him ? You two rock together.”
Another wrote: “Thought you were going to join him on stage?! Gutted missed opportunity.”
“I fully expected to see you joining him on stage for a song. But it was a great celebration anyway,” a third chimed in.
In a set loaded with hits, Elton showed why he has long been Glasto’s most-wanted headliner as he admitted: “I never thought I’d actually do this.”
Elton then dueted with Nashville-based singer-songwriter Stephen Sanchez on his own song Until I Found You.
Brandon Flowers of The Killers sang Tiny Dancer and British-Japanese pop star Rina Sawayama performed the Kiki Dee part on 1976 hit Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.
Elton sang Cold Heart, his duet with Dua Lipa, but in her absence asked the audience to sing her part, and they obliged in full voice.
