I’m going to the beach with my family but I only own thong bikinis – now I’m terrified about how they’ll react
A WOMAN has shared her dilemma over her bikini wardrobe and family vacations.
She feared her preference for thong-style bikinis would not be considered appropriate.
This young lady illustrated the issue by lining up some of her numbers.
There was certainly a variety of colors, patterns, and fabrics – but they were all thongs.
Sof (@sofia_lynne13) affected mock despair in her post as she held up examples from her bikini wardrobe.
In the background the menacing theme track to Jaws played out, indicating her fear about the upcoming beach trip.
“Me trying to find a bikini to go to the beach with my family,” she said. “Lol, it’s thongs only out here.”
One fan tried to be helpful by suggesting which one would be suitable for family beach vacations.
“The third pair was the closest to being family-friendly,” they said of a dark green pair of bikini bottoms.
But it was a hard choice to make when all of the examples she showed were briefer than brief.
“Just livin’,” she said of herself on her TikTok, which is just as well when it comes to swimwear.
In her post, she wore denim shorts and a T-shirt as she demonstrated her swimwear dilemma.
The variety was certainly impressive. She held out each item for good effect. There was not a great deal of fabric there.
Among them was a pink one, a grey satin-effect pair, an umber-colored patterned number, a deep green one, and another light-colored patterned pair.
But she said in conclusion: “My family is super cool about what I wear. I made this for fun.”
Commenters were behind her all the way: “Wear what you want. Be your confident self,” said one.
While the final comment suggested other ways of dressing for beachside holidays: “If you’re uncomfortable with wearing that then you could get a body suit or high-waisted bottoms,” they said.
