I was mum-shamed for going braless on day out with my toddler son – people need to get a life, I’ll wear what I want

A CURVY mum told how a stranger screamed at her to put her boobs away as she sat in a cafe without a bra.

Sophie, 42, was trying to stay cool in the scorching sunshine and didn’t think her outfit was particularly revealing.

But a random punter had a different idea and marched over and told her to put her 36GG assets away.

The unbelievable incident spiralled out of control as stunned Sophie was accused of distracting everyone, and branded a bad mother.

Sophie said: “It was a bit upsetting. I got flustered and stressed by it all. I have absolutely no idea what her problem was.

“Another woman who was sitting nearby told me she thought she was just a bit jealous, which was really kind.

“But there is no way this is going to stop me wearing whatever the hell I want to. Especially in this heat.”

Sophie stuck on a new grey vest top and denim shorts for the trip to the cafe in the middle of the heatwave.

Her son, aged two, was with her and they were heading to his favourite place, which has an outdoor section.

She had no intention of being sexy or revealing and was trying to cut up her boy’s food when she was confronted by the stranger.

Sophie said: “It was a brand new top so I didn’t realise you could see my nipples through it a tiny bit. But it was hot, I wasn’t really thinking about that – I was just trying to stay cool.

“I didn’t realise there was an issue until this woman came over and spoke to me in a really patronising tone.

She said: ‘Nobody wants to see that. Can you put them away please?’.”

Sophie was shocked when the stranger pointed down to her chest as she made the bizarre demand.

The mum was momentarily lost for words but then asked her: “Do you want me to leave them at home next time.”

But things escalated and the woman accused Sophie of distracting everyone as they were trying to eat.

Sophie added: “She said I was a terrible mum and I should go home and put some clothes on.

“I don’t cope very well in situations like that so I asked her to go away and mind her own business and leave me and my son alone.

“Thankfully he wasn’t bothered and was just eating his lunch but I was worried it was going to escalate and scare him.”

At this point Sophie said she locked eyes with the woman’s husband who appeared mortified.

She added: “He was shaking his head and mouthing ‘I’m really sorry’.

“I told her to sit down and mind her own business but she started screeching at me.”

Sophie revealed the woman’s husband intervened and then he started getting it in the neck.

But thankfully the pair then decided to make a sharp exit and the incredible row came to an end.

Staff only realised what was going on as the couple left and checked to make sure Sophie and her boy were okay.

But the full-time content creator, who jetted to the Czech Republic for a boob job, wasn’t put off by the incident in Manchester.

She vowed to wear whatever she wants when she heads out this summer.

Sophie said: “I was fine after it.

“That woman’s jealousy and her husband have absolutely nothing to do with me.

“Let her have her little tantrum. Maybe she needed it. And I’ll get on with my life.”
