A WOMAN has revealed how she used to ‘fat-fish’ men on dating apps.
Samantha Taormina, from the US, shared her dating story on TikTok and left people stunned.
The make-up artist revealed she no longer considered herself a fat-fish but explained how she did it.
She said: “Storytime, and this one’s about me, it’s embarrassing.
“About ten years ago, I used to be about 300lbs,and I was on a dating website.”
She revealed that whenever she took pictures, she would take them high above her so that there was no double chin in sight.
“You’re gonna take the picture up at an angle.
“My picture was like way up here, so there was no double chin in sight,” she said in another clip.
Samantha also explained that her profile did say she was plus size but he said: “All girls say they’re fat, don’t worry about it.”
After uploading the pictures, she started to talking to one guy and ended up agreeing to meet him for a date.
But his reaction when she got there left her stunned.
Samantha explained: “When he came to the restaurant and met me at the table he literally said ‘is this a joke, you fatfished me.’
“Never heard the term fatfished until that day.”
She was left holding back tears and told him there was no need to stay, but his response was shocking.
“The least I can do is get a drink with you,” she recalled him saying.
“It was the most uncomfortable, belittling experience – it was my fault,” Samantha claimed.
“He didn’t really get what he expected but never fatfish someone.
“It’s not fair to you, or them, because they might be an as**ole.”
The videos Samantha posted have gone viral and many took to the comments to share their thoughts.
Plenty of people said he was in the wrong for the way he reacted.
One person wrote: “I would’ve laughed and said well your personality wasn’t what I expected so I’m not wasting my time, have a good night. You’re beautiful!”
Another commented: “I would have thrown my drink at him.”
“NOT YOUR FAULT SIS! No way! That dude sounds like a boy. You deserve a MAN,” penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “You dodged a bullet for sure.”
“I wish you would have stood up and told him to drink alone and left,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “I would have gotten up and left.”
