Thousands of people swarm Witton Park for the music festival at the weekend.
A statement from the organisers of the festival said: “Restricted Events are deeply saddened by the news that a customer passed away following the event at Witton Park on Saturday evening.
“We pass on our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the young lady.
“This event takes a full 12 months to organise and as with all large scale events of this nature an in depth event management plan is prepared and checked by the Council Events Safety Advisory Group that includes all three emergency services and several specialist council departments, to ensure that the events that we operate are as safe as possible for the customers in attendance.
“We await the medical report before commenting on further.”
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “We were called to Royal Blackburn Hospital at 3.30pm yesterday (June 25) to reports of a sudden death.
“It was reported that the previous day a woman had become ill at a music festival in Blackburn and after receiving medical attention had been taken to hospital where she sadly died.
“Her death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed to HM Coroner in due course.”
