Call for Entries: The 2023 AFBC Architectural Awards of Excellence
Project submissions for the AFBC Architectural Awards of Excellence are now being accepted.
The awards, which historically were administered by the AIBC, have been led by the AFBC since 2021. They represent the highest level of architectural award in British Columbia, with an aim to recognize and celebrate design excellence for projects across the province.
The Architecture Foundation of British Columbia is a non-profit organization that advocates for the advancement of architecture and design in British Columbia. The Architectural Awards of Excellence is held bi-annually at a location of architectural significance on a rotating basis, and celebrates design and the unique and diverse work of the province’s architects.
The Awards program, including the Lieutenant-Governor of British Columbia Awards in Architecture, recognizes projects built in BC by BC architects.
Award categories also include the Design Excellence Awards, Emerging Firm Award, Innovation Award, Unbuilt Award, Equity Award, Design Distinction Award and Special Jury Award.
For a project to be considered for an Award, at least one of the project’s lead design architects must be a registered Architect AIBC active at the time of project completion. An AFBC membership (individual or firm) is also required to submit an application.
AIBC Associates and non-members may be credited as project team members. Applications are to be made through the firm of record or the firm holding a valid certificate of practice in British Columbia with the AIBC.
The AFBC will be accepting project submissions until 11:59 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023.
