Exhibitions in four-part harmony at NSU Art Museum
Celebrity is the motif of an ambitious quartet of concurrent exhibitions at NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale. Through Sept. 3, “Picturing Fame” comprises “Toulouse-Lautrec and the Follies of Fame,” “Van Gogh, Lautrec and Me,” “Hooray for Hollywood” and “The Swans.” The latter, from which the piece on this page is taken, frames Karen Kilimnik’s romantic paintings of stars and models with Stephanie Seymour’s vintage haute couture fashions. Though the title refers to mid-20th-century high society women who Truman Capote dubbed “The Swans,” these inventive vignettes reimagine the glamor and romance of the turn-of-the-century Belle Époque. nsuartmuseum.org
