Report: Tottenham are now ‘confident’ they can sign 25-year-old defender

Tottenham Hotspur are thought to be confident they can bring Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo to North London should they opt to pursue a move for the 25-year-old.

A disappointing campaign for Tottenham in 2022/23 was underpinned by vulnerabilities at the back, and as such, Ange Postecoglou has told the Spurs board he needs a new centre-back (90 Min).

While Postecoglou is believed to have a number of targets in mind for this position, one name we know is on the shortlist is Adarabioyo (Sky Sports).

The commanding centre-half has just entered the final year of his current contract at Craven Cottage. According to Fabrizio Romano, Adarabioyo is keen to leave Fulham this summer.

A report from Football Insider recently suggested Spurs are looking to secure a ‘cut-price’ deal for the defender this summer.

Whether Spurs will actually move for Tosin Adarabioyo or not remains to be seen, but an update from sources at Football Insider claims the Lilywhites are ‘confident’ they could tempt the Fulham man to join them. 

At this “early stage”, it is believed Adarabioyo is “not towards the top” of Postecoglou’s shortlist when it comes to defensive reinforcements. However, a well-placed source suggests he could become a “real option” later in the transfer window this summer.

If Spurs do end up making an approach for Adarabioyo, it is thought they would be “confident in their ability to lure” the player across London to trade the white of Fulham for the white of Tottenham.

I am sure that if Spurs came knocking for Adarabioyo he would snap that opportunity up.

He has already made it apparent that he wants to leave Fulham this summer, and despite what happened last season, Tottenham are still a huge club that many players would love to sign for.
