Canada law says Facebook, Google must pay for posting news

OTTAWA, Canada: Facebook and Instagram have announced they will end offering news to users in Canada, following laws being passed mandating the payment to publishers for posting news online.

Facebook parent company, Meta Platforms Inc, said it will end news services in Canada when the law comes into effect.
