My go-to post gym meal takes 10 minutes to make – it’s packed full of protein and just five ingredients
A GYM rat has said her commitment to wellness goes further than just regular exercise.
She swears by her five-ingredient post workout breakfast to keep her body in check as well.
TikToker Emilia (@emx_fitness) often shares tidbits of her health and fitness journey to inspire her followers to live a balanced lifestyle like she does.
While she usually shares workout routines, in one video she shared a recipe that makes for the perfect meal to get your day started.
“Make a quick and easy post workout breakfast with me,” she began.
She starts by cooking a serving of oatmeal on the stove top.
While that’s boiling, she mixed Impact Whey Protein powder with water in a bowl to form a paste and then added it to the oatmeal as it cooked.
Next, she chopped up a red apple and mixed it into the oatmeal and protein dish.
For the final topping, she threw in a spoonful of protein powder and a scoop of fat free Skyr yogurt.
“Literally took me 10 minutes,” she revealed in the caption.
Although some people think skipping breakfast is a better choice for healthy living, a Sports Nutritionist at Warrior named Jess Hillard said breakfast is called the “most important meal of the day” for good reason.
“The body has not eaten for however many hours you have been asleep and breaking the fast allows the body to wake up again, have fuel for the day, feel energized, and allow you to carry out whatever activities you have on that day,” she said.
Additionally, breakfast accounts for 25 percent of our daily nutrients: “By not having breakfast, you are missing out on a massive chunk of vitamins and minerals in the first part of your day.”
