CT man involved in violent, drug-dealing street gang gets 20+ years in prison

A man with reported ties to a Bridgeport gang has been sentenced to more than 20 years in prison for his role in the killing of a rival gang member in 2019, according to federal authorities.

Tyrone Moore, also known as “Ty Ralph Lauren,” 21, was sentenced to a total of 250 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, during a hearing in federal court in Bridgeport Monday, according to the Connecticut U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Moore’s arrest came in the midst of several law enforcement agencies –  including the FBI, ATF, DEA, U.S. Marshals Service and Bridgeport police – investigating Bridgeport-based gangs whose members are known to be involved in narcotics trafficking, “murder and other acts of violence,” federal officials said in a statement.

Moore, according to federal officials, is a member of the “East End gang,” which began as a local street gang based in the East End of Bridgeport, but now has members and associates who are either imprisoned or living throughout Bridgeport and surrounding towns. The East End gang has been aligned with other groups, including the PT Barnum Gang, the East Side gang and 150 – which is a geographic gang based on the West Side of Bridgeport – all of which federal officials said were rivals against other groups in Bridgeport, including the “Original North End”, or “O.N.E.”, and the “Greene Homes Boyz,” or “GHB/Hotz”, based in the Charles F. Greene Homes Housing Complex in Bridgeport’s North End.

Moore’s sentence Monday came after he pleaded guilty on July 5, 2022, to one count conspiracy to engage in a pattern of racketeering activity and admitted to his role in a 2019 homicide, according to federal officials.

Officials said Moore admitted that he and another East End gang member shot and killed Sean Warren, also known as “Kujoe,” on July 12, 2019. Warren was a member and associate of the O.N.E. gang.

Moore has been in custody since October 2019.

Federal officials also said Moore and other East End members distributed heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana and Percocet pills. They also, “used and shared firearms” and committed acts of violence against rival gang members and other individuals, officials said in the statement.

“East End members celebrated their criminal conduct on social media websites such as Facebook and YouTube, and committed acts of intimidation and made threats to deter potential witnesses to their crimes and to protect gang members and associates from detection and prosecution by law enforcement authorities,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a statement.
