Marcy Kaptur (D., Toledo) said Monday that Davis-Besse’s former owner, FirstEnergy Corp. sullied the nuclear industry’s reputation by cutting corners on safety years ago and subsequently engaged itself in a political scandal that drew global attention to Ohio for corruption.
