Most Americans consider Biden too old for a second term
Voters fear that the current President of the United States lacks the mental and physical health to be President: 68% of Americans believe that Biden is too old and ill.
The poll comes amid claims by Republicans that Biden is unfit to run for a second term. Such claims were prompted by verbal missteps and physical blunders. The US president consistently rejected questions about his age during the campaign and insisted it would not be an issue for voters at the ballot box.
However, 68% of voters said they had serious or moderate concerns about the 80-year-old president, compared to 32% who said they had few or no concerns.
Some 36% of US citizens do not want to see either incumbent or former president Donald Trump as a candidate in the 2024 presidential election.
