Tottenham have no intention of holding ‘long negotiations’ for one target – Journalist reports
Journalist Rudy Galetti has revealed that Tottenham will continue holding talks with Barcelona for Clement Lenglet over the next few days but added that the North London club are prepared to turn to other options if a deal for the Frenchman cannot be agreed.
Tottenham have been credited with an interest in multiple left-sided centre-backs in recent days, including the likes of Wolfsburg’s Micky van de Ven and Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba over recent days (Fabrizio Romano).
Meanwhile, reports from Spain continue to insist that Spurs also want to sign Lenglet permanently, with Sport.es claiming last week that the negotiations between the Premier League club and Barcelona are moving in the right direction.
The publication added that in light of the ‘progress’ that is being made in the talks, both clubs are hoping that the transfer could be sealed before the end of this month.
Tottenham have Lenglet alternatives on their list
However, Galetti has now asserted that Tottenham will not hesitate to move on to other alternatives if a deal for Lenglet is not favourable.
The journalist told GiveMeSport: “The talks will also continue in the next few days, even if Tottenham Hotspur have no intention of holding long negotiations as they do have other possible names on their list of centre-backs.”

My gut instinct is that we will sign two centre-backs this summer to play on each side of central defence and also sign Lenglet to keep him around as a backup.
It is difficult to imagine us signing two left-sided centre-backs (and three in total) in one transfer window.
