Gunman robs armored truck guard in Hayward

HAYWARD — An armored truck guard was robbed at gunpoint on Monday morning, authorities said.

No one was reported injured.

The robbery happened about 8:55 a.m. Monday in the 1000 block of A Street.

Authorities said a Brinks Armored Transportation guard was robbed outside the truck of an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police have not said if the guard had made a pick-up of money from a business in the area or was taking money to a  business.

At least one armed suspect was involved in the robbery.

The robber was gone before police could respond to the scene. A description of the suspect has not yet been released.
