I’m A Celebrity star set to sign for Strictly Come Dancing after joking he wants to experience show’s infamous curse
SOAP heart-throb Adam Thomas is set to sign for Strictly Come Dancing — after previously joking he wanted to experience the BBC show’s infamous curse.
The actor made his breakthrough on ITV’s Emmerdale as Adam Barton and finished third in 2016’s I’m A Celebrity.
He now stars in the BBC school drama Waterloo Road.
Adam, 34, is one of a trio of famous siblings.
His twin brother is Love Island star Scott and brother Ryan, 39, was in Coronation Street.
A TV insider said: “After two decades on screen and, as one of the Thomas brothers, he instantly brings a huge fanbase. That’s what Strictly bosses love.
“Producers also see him as someone who can fill the young hunk role, which is important and often sees them pick soap stars.”
Previous actors chosen for the slot include Hollyoaks’ Danny Mac, who was a runner-up in 2016, and ex-Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher, who won in 2019.
Adam married long-term girlfriend Caroline Daly six years ago.
They have daughter Elsie-Rose, five, and son Teddy, eight, who also plays his son on Waterloo Road.
Speaking previously amid rumours of him signing for Strictly, he joked: “Bring it all on. I love a bit of glitz and glam.
“I just want to experience the Strictly curse.”
