Novato’s Bella Notte releases bedding and blankets for babies
Bella Notte Linens (bellanottelinens.com), headquartered in the Bel Marin Keys area of Novato, has just announced the release of its new baby bedding collection, Petit Bella.
While the company, founded in 1996, has offered baby blankets over the years, this is its first baby bedding collection.
“We wanted to focus on a collection that could bring cozy comfort to the little ones in our lives, just like we love doing for adults,” says merchandising and marketing manager Heather Asker. “Babies loves plush softness, and now they, too, can be tucked into velvet and charmeuse without the worry of maintenance.”
Easy maintenance is always a bonus, “especially when a beloved blanket drops into a puddle,” she adds. “The quality of our pieces means that the blanket you drape over your baby can be a family heirloom and may be enjoyed by future generations.”
There are collectors who have literally grown up with Bella Notte, she says. “They understand the quality and uniqueness of what we create and they have been clamoring for products sized specifically for their babies.”
Some parents will appreciate the mindfully sourced materials and low-impact, handcrafted processes while others “are people who live quite elegantly and want their nurseries to reflect the exquisite textiles and captivating colors they’ve chosen for the rest of their home,” she says.
Customers have many choices with this collection. Fabrics range from linen, embroidered linen, organic cotton and cotton sateen to silk velvet and silk charmeuse.
The color palette includes 17 custom, low-impact dye colors that range from soft pastels to deep dramatics.
Prices start at $200 for a linen crib sheet, $300 for a cotton sateen crib skirt and $280 for an organic cotton damask baby blanket.
Bella Notte Linens has also introduced its limited edition (of 140) bundles of Mathilde, a linen blanket and a crib sheet in a delicate peony blossom pattern that is trimmed in a satin ruffle. The bundle costs $650.
Bella Notte Linens will add more items to the collection in autumn.

The Institute of Classical Architecture & Art has two interesting events coming up in July.
The first is an illustrated lecture at 5:30 p.m. July 18 by Barbara Sallick, co-founder of Waterworks, a luxury brand of kitchen and bath products, who will discuss and sign copies of her newest book, “The Ultimate Bath” (Rizzoli, $60).
The event will be at Waterworks at 155 Rhode Island St. in San Francisco. Admission is $60 and includes a wine reception.
The second event is a one-day workshop on July 22 for anyone interested in learning about the art and craft of metal design or stone carving.
The day begins at Michael Bondi Metal Design, where Michael Bondi will demonstrate metal working and allow guests to try their hand at it before taking home their own piece of metal work.
After moving over to QuarryHouse, guests will enjoy a Mexican-style lunch, tour the studio and, with the help of master carver Christopher Stinehour, learn the techniques of carving a unique letter from malleable limestone to take home with them.
The event will be at Michael Bondi Metal Design at 2801 Giant Road, Building 1 in Richmond and costs $175. Participation is limited, so if you are interested, register early.
For both events, register at classicist-nocal.org/upcoming-events.
