I jazzed up my council house on the cheap – it’s got a Wickes privacy screen & a classy bedroom & people love it
A WOMAN has unveiled the results of a makeover she’s completed on her council house.
The social media user, who goes by the name @abitofme123 on TikTok, has upgraded her property with various DIY projects both inside and out.
And the woman, who lives in Wales, has been keen to show each one off on her account.
She started with the interiors, as she set to work on putting her own personal stamp throughout the decor.
And she said you don’t need to break the bank to get the job done, as she’s kept costs incredibly low to turn it into her dream home.
In one video, @abitofme123 explained the things she had done to “improve her council house on a budget.”
This included a new fancy living room with a neutral colour scheme, such as beige walls and art work, plus a grey sofa and stylish throw and lampshade from Dunelm.
Her other home accessories were bought from the likes of Asda, The Range, Amazon and Morrisons.
Elsewhere, she explained how she’d set to work in one of the bedrooms and added a dark panelled feature wall “for a touch of class.”
While the entrance to her home has been completely changed, as the mum renovated the hall and stairways.
At the same time, @abitofme123 unveiled an impressive garden transformation when she dug it up and flattened it out.
And she took things one step further when she thought up the idea of a privacy fence.
The woman showed how she’d turned to Wickes for supplies and bought some trellis screens, which cost £22.50 each and measure in at just under six feet.
After she placed the screens on top of her small fence, she put some larger planks of wood behind and secured them in place.
All of her videos have been met with a big reaction, with many commenting that they loved what she’d done with the place and couldn’t believe the difference.
One person wrote: “It’s beautiful.”
A second said: “Looks lovely, well done.”
As a third added: “Wow!”
While a fourth typed: “How do you know how to do all of this – so clever, wish I could be so practical.”
