WATCH: Little Boy is “Speechless” to Learn He’s Been Adopted

A heartwarming viral video shows a little boy jumping excitedly into his father’s arms after learning that he was adopted.

According to Live Action News, the boy’s father, Chris Overton, of Elk Grove, California, shared a video of the emotional moment on TikTok in June, and it quickly caught the attention of tens of thousands of people. Currently, the video has nearly 87,000 views.

“[A]fter a few years of court, the battle is finally over and my son is now undisputably [sic] my son,” Overton wrote online.

The video shows Overton playing with his newly-adopted son Jameson and other children in the pool together. When Overton leans over and asks, “Guess what?” the little boy does not know what to say. The father leans closer and whispers, “I’m your daddy now.” Immediately, Jameson cries for joy and jumps into his father’s arms where they hug for a long moment.

Later, in an interview with ABC News, Overton said the adoption process took two years, but it was worth it.

“Don’t give up,” he told other prospective adoptive parents. “It was incredibly difficult, incredibly challenging, but when you just follow your heart, you just know the right thing to do.”

The family also posted a newer video with the father and son, celebrating how Jameson is “now officially my son!”

The video shows the little boy describing how much he loves his dad: “I love you! You’re the best dad in the whole wide world, and you are the best dad. And I will always love you, with all my heart. And I will always love you … forever and ever and ever, for the rest of existence.”
