Brits are booking last minute hols to escape UK rain – here are some of the best deals right now
STARTING to get sick of this rain-soaked British summer?
You’re not alone – according to travel agencies, last-minute holidays to sunnier destinations have nearly quadrupled in the last month.
Luckily, travel companies keep releasing more deals to escape somewhere warmer, and deals start from £356pp.
The best deals come from holiday giants like Jet2holidays, TUI and loveholidays.
There are options for different budgets, too – with self-catering, room-only, half-board and all-inclusive stays available.
A Jet2 representative told the BBC that the weather has made their clients’ travel plans more flexible: “More people are simply looking to get away this summer and swap the UK weather for some sunshine, regardless of the destination.”
That being said, Brits usually don’t have to travel too far to enjoy some sandy beaches and sunny days, as plenty of deals are available in Spain, Greece and Turkey.
And according to TUI, “Sometimes booking last-minute gets you the best price”.
For instance, seven nights in Fuerteventura, Spain, cost from £356pp.
The deal includes your return flights and self-catered stay at Castillo Beach Apartments.
