40 Cars On Aragon Entry
The entry list for the Le Mans Cup’s first trip to Motorland Aragon has been released. It features 40 cars across the two classes and a handful of changes since the meeting at Le Castellet last month.
Two cars are missing from the Paul Ricard entry. In LMP3, there is no Haegeli By T2 Racing Duqueine M30, and in GT3 the #63 Iron Lynx Lamborghini Huracan of Hiroshi Hamaguchi and Vincent Abril is not listed.
Abril has confirmed to DSC that this was always planned due to other commitments for Hamaguchi. Iron Lynx will return for the remaining races on the calendar at Spa and Portimao.
This leaves 29 cars in LMP3 and 11 in GT3, with a handful of driver changes in both classes.
In LMP3, the #9 Racing Spirit of Le Man sees a completely new line-up, with Christian Gisy and Ralf Kelleners making way for Jean-Ludovic Foubert and Antonie Doquin, who won the LMP2 class in the ELMS race at Paul Ricard with the team.
The list also confirms the change at United Autosports in the #22 Ligier, with Josh Caygill and Garnet Patterson confirmed for a one-off drive in Gerald Kraut and Scott Andrews’ absence.
At 360 Racing James Dayson is not listed alongside Belen Garcia Espinar. He will be replaced by Mark Richards. Notably, Dayson is still scheduled to attend the meeting in Spain, as he will compete with RLR MSport in its #5 ELMS-entered Ligier.
At GRAFF, Xavier Lloveras will partner with James Sweetnam in the #39 Ligier JS P320. Paul Trojani is the absent driver here.
Lloveras is no stranger to the team. He competed in the last two seasons of the Asian Le Mans Series and claimed the LMP3 title last winter with Fabrice Rossello and François Hériau.
“After a difficult start to the season in MLMC, I am very happy to work with Xavier again as the championship resumes in Aragon,” said team manager Pascal Rauturier.
“I think we have a strong line-up to fight at the front.”
It’s a completely new line-up for Murphy Prototypes meanwhile. The Irish-flagged team will compete with RAM Racing owner John Ferguson and Will Bratt. DSC understands that this is a pre-planned change, with full-season driver Adrian Watt not available.
And finally, the M Racing Ligier has a tweaked crew, with Miguel Christovao out and former Larbre FIA WEC LMP2 driver Erwin Creed in.
GT3 sees just one driver change across the 11 cars. Mark Cole is set to drive with Sennan Fielding in the Steller Motorsport Audi seat previously filled by James Wood.
The 110-minute Le Mans Cup race at Aragon is set to get underway on August 25th at 17:40 local time.
