Emmerdale fans work out devastating twist for Dan Spencer as he faces prison

EMMERDALE fans have worked out a devastating twist for Dan Spencer as he spent his final day in the village.

The mechanic – who is played by actor Liam Fox in the ITV soap – is facing a lengthy prison sentence for killing daughter Amelia’s stalker Lloyd accidentally.

He is convinced he will get a three year sentence – meaning he will be out on good behaviour in just 18 months.

But as Dan said he didn’t know for sure what would happen with Amelia because she is under 18 and couldn’t fathom the benefits system, Amelia told him it would all work out.

“It’s 18 months, right, we just have to try to get through that,” she said.

Dan replied: “If all goes our way yeah. Three years and half that for good behaviour. But Chas said she’d look after you, and there’s always Lydia and Sam. Even Manclub are looking out for you. 

“But i’m not too concerned. You are the strongest nearly 17 year old that I know. Like She-Ra Princess of Power, that’s what I think of you – my little superhero. 

“You can do anything you want to. I don’t want to leave you either. I wouldn’t do it unless I absolutely have to. 

“But I’m not worried because you are going to be absolutely fine.”

Dan then handed some wildflower seeds to Amelia could plant them once he’s in prison – and they’ll flower next year giving her a reminder of him.

She decided to spread them on the hill and promised to come back next year with Esther, and then the following year with Dan when he would be out of prison.

But fans don’t think it will be that simple and they have worked out a devastating twist that will see Dan go away for years longer than he expected.

One wrote: “18 months for killing the man trying to get one over on your daughter ain’t bad result to be fair!! It will be way longer.”

A second said: “he’s getting 8 years definitely. Not three!!”

Another added: “How do they know he’ll get 18 months? Surely he’ll get longer.”

A fourth echoed: “This is all paving the way for Dan to get a lengthy prison sentence.”
