Coronation Street fans break down in tears as Tyrone Dobbs discovers the truth about ‘dead’ mum Cassie Plummer
CORONATION Street fans are in tears for Tyrone Dobbs after he discovered the shocking truth about his mum Cassie Plummer.
The mechanic – who is played by actor Alan Halsall in the ITV soap – had been told his birth mum Cassie died in South Africa of a drug overdose.
Viewers know Evelyn kept the truth from him for years and recently took Cassie away to get her clean.
And tonight they returned to Weatherfield – with Cassie seemingly off the drugs – but Evelyn still wouldn’t let her near Tyrone.
However she convinced her mum to let her go to the soaps and promptly went to the Bistro to meet Tyrone at his daughters’ performance at the Little Big Shotz show.
After they helped put the chairs away Cassie decided to come clean, telling him: “There is something else. I don’t know how to say this.”
But as Evelyn rushed in and shouted at Cassie to leave immediately, she grabbed Tyrone and said: “You’re my boy Tyrone. I’m your mum.”
Tyrone was in shock and insisted his mum was dead and demanded Evelyn tell her – but her reaction said it all.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry,” said Evelyn as Tyrone rushed out and Cassie tried to go after him.
“He had a right to know, I had a right to tell him,” insisted Cassie as Evelyn dragged her back into the Bistro.
“Not like that, that was downright cruel,” Evelyn said.
Back at the house Cassie and Evelyn rowed with Tyrone in the middle.
He was horrified to discover that Evelyn found out Cassie was alive back in September – and had been secretly trying to get her daughter clean.
He turned on Cassie and demanded to know when she had returned to the country – and why she hadn’t bothered to get in contact before.
“Just go,” he said.
“I meant you and all nan. I meant both of you, it’s not up for discussion. You fed me a pack of lies, I’m better off just Fiz and the girls so just go.”
He broke down as she walked out the door and viewers were in tears for him.
One wrote: “Tyrone has every right to be angry!”
A second said: “I get Tyrone is angry but Evelyn was trying to protect him.”
