India's National Medical Commission (NMC) has banned doctors from attending seminars or conferences that have any direct or indirect sponsorship from pharmaceutical companies or the health sector. Under the new guidelines established by the professional conduct norms, those who breach this rule may face a suspension of their medical license for up to 3 months.
