Nineties pop star unrecognisable 24 years after huge chart hit and quitting the UK for Italy
SHE became the voice of Eurodance back in the 1900s and she hasn’t stopped performing since.
But these days Ann Lee, real name Annerley Emma Gordon, looks a far cry from the singer who burst onto the music scene over 20 years ago.
The star does however still have her choppy haircut, but is now blonder.
Ann was originally born in Sheffield but moved to Italy, where she is thought to still live.
She is best known for her huge hits 2 Times and Voices, both released in 1999.
2 Times was a top 10 hit in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Norway, as well as in Australia and New Zealand – and reached number 2 in the UK.
Fans will also know her for contributing to the composition of the massively successful song, The Rhythm of the Night.
Ann hasn’t stopped making music – apart from a brief break when her son was born in 2005.
She previously told Eurokdj.com: “There is no point in working so hard (even if what I do seems a breeze – and I know that I’m very lucky) if you can’t enjoy the fruits of your labour!
“I’d recently bought a house here in Italy (well – a wreck of a house – it was practically rebuilt!) and then decide to plan for a child: my son was born in 2005 and for the first two years of his life
“I knew it was fundamental for him to have his mum around practically 24/7-hence the long pause:
“I would never have never given him to a nanny to go on tour – in my opinion the two just don’t mix – having said that, some mums just have to but I was lucky enough to have some time off – and I’d certainly do it again if necessary.”
Ann Lee regularly performs all over the world still and has vowed to keep on doing so for many years.
