Mountain View: 23-year-old arrested after man is shot and killed
MOUNTAIN VIEW — A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder Sunday after a Mountain View shooting left another man dead, according to authorities.
Police received reports of gunshots just after 9 a.m. Sunday on the 2000 block of Reinert Road. Upon arrival, officers found a man lying down in the driveway of an apartment complex with at least one gunshot wound. The man, only identified as a 29-year-old Mountain View resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner-Coroner did not publicly identify the victim Monday morning, pending notification of next of kin.
Officers located and later arrested a second man at the apartment complex, identified as 23-year-old Juan Rodriguez, also of Mountain View. Rodriguez was arrested on suspicion of murder, and a gun was found at the scene, police said.
No additional details surrounding the case, including a potential motive, were revealed, with police citing the active investigation.
