Haqqani attributes Pakistan’s security incidents to internal problems

0

The acting Interior Minister, Sirajuddin Haqqani, emphasized that Pakistan’s recent incidents stem from internal issues that Islamabad itself should address.

His warning highlighted that pursuing a resolution for Pakistan’s issues through force in Afghanistan could harm the interests of citizens in both countries.

“If they want to solve this issue through force, certainly– the nations of Afghanistan and Pakistan, which have many mutual interests– all of these interests will be harmed,” he said.

Addressing a gathering in Uruzgan during his visit on Sunday, Haqqani accused the international community of failing to uphold their commitments to basic humanity. He expressed disappointment at the unfulfilled promises and emphasized the importance of global cooperation in meeting the fundamental needs of people worldwide.

Recently, Pakistan has witnessed a surge in militant activities perpetrated by groups such as the TTP, BLA, and others.

These attacks have targeted Pakistani officials and ordinary citizens, including foreign nationals. This escalation in violence has raised significant concerns about the security situation within the country.

In response to the mounting threat, Pakistani authorities have consistently exerted pressure on the Taliban to address the presence of militant hideouts within their borders directly.

However, the Taliban leadership has consistently denied the allegations, insisting that the turmoil in Pakistan is a result of its internal issues. They stress that Afghanistan should not be held responsible for the shortcomings of its neighbour.
