The Odisha government on Tuesday transferred IPS officer Brijesh Rai to police headquarters and initiated an inquiry after a woman home guard recently lost her legs while trying to end her life by jumping in front of a train, unable to take the alleged torture she had to suffer at the hands of the officer’s wife at their residence in Angul district. Rai was a deputy inspector general (DIG), north central range.
