Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi has stated that there is enough coal stock with thermal power plants and Coal India Ltd. The comments come as electricity demand in India rises due to humid weather and dry spells. Joshi emphasized the need to boost coal transportation via the rail-sea-rail route. Although coal stocks at power plants have depleted slightly in August, they are still sufficient.
