Britney Spears forced to split up beloved dogs she owns with ex Sam Asghari as couple’s nasty divorce heats up
BRITNEY Spears and Sam Asghari have reached a mutual agreement to split their five dogs between them amid their divorce.
The couple acquired the pets during their lengthy relationship and while their divorce is far from settled, they’ve agreed to divide up their dogs.
Britney, 41, will be keeping four of the five dogs while Sam, 29, holds onto one, TMZ has reported.
The actor will retain custody of a Doberman named Porsha, whom he got for protection while he was with the Toxic singer.
He was spotted out walking the dog on Monday.
The Australian Shepherd named Sawyer, Yorkie named Hannah, and two smaller dogs will stay with Britney.
According to the outlet, both parties are happy with the arrangement.
During their relationship, Britney and Sam had their share of troubles with their pets.
In February, they received a warning from Animal Control after their Doberman escaped and bit an elderly man.
The man – reportedly in his 70s – was riding his bike through the neighborhood when the escaped dog approached him and bit him on the leg.
He sought medical attention as a result of the incident.
WELCOME, PORSHA
Sam gifted Britney with Porsha in October 2021.
At the time, she shared a video of her showing of her new pet while her then-beau introduced her to the world.
He said in the clip: “Her name is Porsha, and she’s going to unconditionally love you.
“It’s going to be trained to protect you from any motherf****r that comes around you with bad intentions.”
The couple brought Sawyer – a puppy – home in February 2022.
They rescued the dog from Hawaii.
Britney showed him off online, writing: “Geez …. can you have two loves of your lives because he comes in second !!!!
“I’m introducing the new edition to my family … his name is Sawyer and he’s a white Australian shepherd with blue eyes !!!!!
“I found him in Maui like a dream and took him home with me immediately. It’s funny … he doesn’t talk back but it’s like he understands what I’m saying!!!!
“I can talk to him for 30 min about potty training and rewarding him when he goes potty on the pad!!!!
“I think he understands me, especially with those eyes he makes my heart melt … he needs me and I like that!!!!!”
DOG DRAMA
In August 2021, it was reported that Britney was being investigated amid claims her dogs were not well.
The Louisiana native was accused of having hit her housekeeper at her home during an argument over her dog.
She allegedly slapped the staffer’s phone out of her hand after she took one of the dogs to the vet, The U.S. Sun confirmed at the time.
Officials told the outlet at the time that there were “no injuries” and “no arrests” were made.
TMZ reported at the time that the singer’s two dogs fell “seriously ill” and one was even “close to death.”
A source told the outlet that the housekeeper believed the only way to save the animals was by taking them to the vet, which meant the dogs were kept away from Britney.
The insider claimed one of Britney’s dogs has serious digestive issues, while both pets were supposed to be fed a special type of food.
The housekeeper allegedly became concerned when she saw the dogs regularly being fed table scraps, which could make the pets to very sick.
She also claimed both dogs were dehydrated due to a lack of water.
That concern is what initially compelled her to make the emergency trip to the vet.
