I cleared the shelves of sliders in Primark and sold them on for a profit – now I’m accused of ‘robbing the poor’
A MAN who cleared the Primark shelves of Barbie sliders and sold them on for a profit has been accused of “robbing the poor”.
Sami saw an opportunity when he realised that Primark had dropped an entire collection based on the new Barbie movie.
He then used a reselling tool called Loot Notify to find out which item was likely to make him the most money – discovering that the hot pink sliders were a must-have product.
“Sales were flying out on eBay so you already know we had to clear all the stock,” he said in his video on TikTok, showing a Primark employee loading pair after pair into the bulging shopping bags.
“We bought them for £9 each and then sold them for £20 on eBay,” Sami added.
“It was a no brainer.”
“So many opportunities to make money off the release of the barbie film!” the 20-year-old added in the caption for his video.
And while some people praised Sami’s money-making eye, others slammed him for the profiteering.
“This is like robbing the poor when you make a profit,” one person commented.
“Rip off,” another added.
“This shouldn’t be allowed… sales should be limited,” a third insisted.
“Pure greed”.
While Sami didn’t respond in the comments section, he does have written on his TikTok bio: “IF I DON’T DO IT THEN SOMEONE GON DO IT”.
And he will literally buy anything if it makes him money.
Other videos on his page show him buying loads of bottles of soy sauce from Waitrose, which he was selling on Amazon for double the price.
He also took advantage of a massive discount on Bondi Sands fake tan in Superdrug, after it was reduced from £18.99 to £4.75.
In fact, the bottles were still marked up as £18.99 on the shelves, but when he asked for a price check, he discovered that he was right and they were £4.75 – and he got an extra discount for being a student too.
Sami was then able to sell the tan on at a huge profit.
