17-year-old shot in East Hartford

A teenager was shot in East Hartford Tuesday night.

Officers learned of the shooting at about 7:30 p.m. and responded to the area of Brookline Drive, according to the East Hartford Police Department.

Officers were able to locate a 17-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg, though it is not believed that the shooting occurred there. The injury has not been considered life-threatening.

Police are still investigating.
