Police confirm Stagecoach driver who died in horror crash was murdered

COPS have confirmed the death of Stagecoach driver in horror crash is now being treated as murder.

The police have launched a probe into his tragic death on the A77 in East Ayrshire

Gordon Stirling, 23, from Crosshouse died in the collision near to the junction on the A719 for Galston around 5.30pm.

The 23-year-old died five days after the crash that saw him rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by emergency services last week.

The 42-year-old White Ford Transit van was taken to hospital with serious injuries following the collision.

Detective Chief Inspector Jennifer McCulloch said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

“Our thoughts remain with the family of Gordon Stirling and we are providing them with support as investigation progresses.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident or who dashcam footage which may assist is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 3147 of Monday, 14 August, 2023.”
