I was a Hollyoaks star – but quit fame to become a lawyer and I love it
A HOLLYOAKS star who quit fame has now revealed he’s changed careers and become a lawyer.
Former actor Sonny Flood starred as Josh Ashwood in the hit Channel 4 soap over a decade ago.
During his time on the soap he experienced his fair share of drama in Hollyoaks village.
In 2010, all of the Ashworth family, apart from big brother Rhys, were axed from Hollyoaks by new executive producer, Paul Marquess – who claimed that he was getting rid of the “deadwood”.
While Sonny did make occasional appearances two years after his axe, he has now left acting completely.
The now 33-year-old is a fully qualified lawyer and is practising in Manchester.
He has a special interest in family law, and was exposed heavily to cases with that theme during his studies.
Sonny is also a dad to his young son.
On his company firm’s website, they say of the former star: “Sonny prides himself on his client care and his ability to build a strong working relationship with clients when dealing with sensitive subject material.
“In care proceedings, Sonny has experience of dealing with clients where issues of capacity have been raised and expert instruction has been sought and challenged; he has also gained experience dealing with ground rules hearings and the appointment of intermediaries.”
Sonny also works on personal injury proceedings, acting for both Claimants and Defendants.
