53-year-old man killed in what police are calling a targeted drive-by shooting in North Hollywood
NORTH HOLLYWOOD — County authorities on Tuesday identified a 53-year-old man who was fatally shot in what police said was a targeted drive-by shooting in North Hollywood.
Officers responded to the 6100 block of Carpenter Avenue around 3:25 p.m. Friday regarding a report of shots fired and found the victim, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The location is near Laurel Hall School and the NoHo West shopping center.
Mario Palacios Membreno was identified as the victim of the shooting, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office.
CBS2 reported Membreno was shot across the street from his home and died at the scene. The medical examiner’s office said he was killed by a gunshot wound to the chest.
There was no suspect description, and no information about what led up to the fatal shooting.
