26’ Chicago’s Casey Krueger goes on a run up the left side of the pitch into Washington territory and picks out forward, Ella Stevens, with a cross, but Stevens’ attempt at goal gets picked up by the Spirit’s keeper
48’ Chicago’s Casey Krueger runs up the left side of the pitch and sends a cross into Washington’s 18-yard box that finds Bianca St-Georges wide open, and she converts the goal, 0-1 Chicago
61’ Penelope Hocking receives a ball deep in the Washington 18-yard box, crosses it to the middle to find an awaiting Yuki Nagasato who chips it into the goal, 0-2 Chicago
73’ Nagasato sends a through ball to Bianca St-Georges who carries it into the Spirit’s box and takes a shot that ricochets off the woodwork and out of play, 0-2 Chicago
GAME NOTES:
- Tonight marked defender, Tatumn Milazzo’s, 50th regular-season appearance. True to form, Milazzo put up a strong performance on both sides of the pitch with 15 passes in the final third (second most among Red Stars players) for 73 percent accuracy in that area and won possession back for the team five times defensively.
- With her goal today, Yuki Nagasato has now been involved in 43 goal contributions across all NWSL competitions, surpassing Christen Press (42) for second most in club history (Sam Kerr – 44).
- This is the first game the Red Stars have won by two or more goals since April against Kansas City, and this is the first win on the road with two or more goals since August 2022 against Racing Louisville FC.
