West Virginia Went to Chiefs’ 2022 Playbook for Two-Point Conversion vs. Penn State
If you’re going to lose, do it with flash. At least, that might have been how West Virginia approached it.
The Mountaineers started their season off with a loss against Penn State on Saturday but went down with some style. The team got creative during a two-point conversion in garbage time and the play was eerily similar to the Chiefs’s 2022 viral huddle.
Already down 31–13 with 3:34 left to go in the game, West Virginia had just scored a touchdown and players began spinning in circles while in the huddle. Ultimately, the team broke the spiraling huddle and converted the two-point conversion with running back CJ Donaldson getting the pitch up the middle.

Kansas City infamously used the “snow globe” huddle against the Raiders in its 2022 regular season finale except it was a different play once the ball was snapped. The Chiefs had the lead and ran a trick play, ultimately winning 31–13. West Virginia would end up losing its matchup 38–15, but the team looked cool doing it.
