NFL picks against the spread, Week 1: Will the underdogs rule opening weekend?
And we’re back!
A long, grueling NFL offseason is now a thing of the past. Training camp updates are no more. All that’s left to do is put the teams on the field and play ball.
Except for us. We still have plenty of work ahead picking winners against the spread. And, uh, to be honest, we could use all the practice we can get. Last year’s picks were less than stellar across the board. Prince Grimes (111-136-9) led the way with the most wins, but had just the third-best winning percentage. No one in our four-person crew finished above .500.
Which led us to two conclusions:
- Picking NFL games against the spread remains incredibly difficult
- We need better picks
There isn’t much we could do about the former item, but to address the latter we’ve called in reinforcements. Joining Prince, Charles Curtis, Caroline Darney and Blake Schuster this season are FTW’s Christian D’Andrea and Robert Zeglinski.
It’s Week 1. We’re looking to bank some early profits. Let’s dig in.
