Maratha leader Manoj Jarange Patil is demanding changes in the Government Resolution (GR) issued by the state government. The GR recognizes Marathas in Marathwada as Kunbis, but Patil is demanding a blanket order recognizing all Marathas in the region as Kunbis. A government official said it will be difficult to meet this demand as it would affect other communities' caste certificates and dilute the OBC quota.
