Scots soft play boss nicked in Florida with child sex abuse haul on his phone arriving for family holiday
A SCOTS soft play owner has been arrested in the US with a child sex abuse haul on his phone moments after arriving for a family holiday.
Steven McInally, 35, was held at Florida’s Melbourne Orlando International Airport where it is believed border force officers found the sick videos and images.
Steven McInally was arrested two weeks ago[/caption] He is the owner of kids’ entertainment venue Go Wild in Glasgow[/caption]The married dad of three’s kids’ entertainment venue — Go Wild in Bridgeton, Glasgow, and his home in nearby Tollcross — have been under 24-hour police surveillance ever since, with forensic searches also carried out.
A source said: “Go Wild soft play hosts thousands of kids every week.
“The news it is being treated as a crime scene relating to sexual images of kids will chill every parent who has ever taken their child there to the bone — it’s shocking and sickening.”
McInally had his mugshot taken by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office following his arrest on August 25.
He is being held in Florida on a “courtesy hold for another jurisdiction” with a £1million bail bond in place.
The US third-degree felony charges he faces covering “sexual performance by a child and child pornography” can be punished by up to five years in jail.
Scots cops raided his home on August 29 and sealed off Go Wild with a metal door.
A neighbour in Tollcross said: ”The police arrived here a week past Tuesday and haven’t left since.
“A six-strong search team was in the home and we could see flashes from a camera as they took pictures inside.
“They’ve also taken pictures of the garden and area around the home.
“It’s been fingertip stuff, all wearing masks, gloves and white suits.”
Go Wild’s landlord, who did not want to be named, said officers searched and photographed the entire premises which has operated since November 2017.
He added: “The venue’s been Steven’s for years. It’s famous for children’s parties.
“The cops were sitting outside 24/7 while search teams went through it with a fine tooth comb.
“It’s extremely worrying.”
Police Scotland confirmed they are in contact with their US counterparts and are working to establish any criminality.
It is unclear whether McInally can be sent back to Scotland quickly or will face an extradition process.
A force spokesman said: “On August 29, we were notified of the arrest of a 35-year-old man from Scotland at Melbourne International Airport, Florida, USA, after he was found to be in possession of indecent images of children.
“We are liaising closely with American authorities and making enquiries into any offences committed in Scotland.
“Enquiries are at an early stage.”
