Japan allocates $140 million more to help fisheries amid China ban
TOKYO, Japan: This week, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said an additional 20.7 billion yen (US$141.41 million) will be allocated to support fisheries after China's complete ban on importing Japanese aquatic products.
Beijing imposed the ban in response to Japan's decision last month to release treated radioactive water from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.
