Has Nick Eardley left the BBC?
Nick Eardley is known for being a top political reporter for the BBC.
Despite speculation, he has shown no indication that he is leaving the Beeb.
In fact he continues to be active on his X (formerly known as Twitter) account, reposting many BBC stories, and commenting on topical poltical events.
Commenting on PMQs on September 13, 2023, he tweeted: “Rishi Sunak says Govt is committed to triple lock at PMQs.
“But no firm commitment over whether commitment will be in the manifesto for next election.”
However, some fans took to X to question whether he is leaving the BBC.
This one tweeted: “Nick Eardley is the current BBC Political correspondent..not sure if he’s leaving though.”
While another simply said: “Is Nick Eardley leaving the BBC?”
The Sun have contacted the BBC for a comment.
Who is Nick Eardley?
Nick Eardley is the Chief Political Correspondent for the BBC, after working his way up the ladder at the broadcaster.
Born in Edinburgh, he kicked off his career when did degrees in both politics and journalism.
Fresh from uni, Nick got his first taste of being a journalist when he worked for The Scotsman newspaper.
However, he then moved to London to join the BBC in 2014, initially part of their online team.
But by 2015, Nick had been appointed BBC Scotland‘s Westminster Correspondent, before getting a huge promotion in 2022 to become the BBC’s Chief Political Correspondent.
Away from work and the TV star is a keen hiker and also enjoys running.
In fact in April 2023, he ran the London Marathon, telling his followers on Instagram: “What a day!!! Legs weren’t quite up to sub-3. Cramp featured heavily in the last 45 mins.
“But nothing beats the London crowds!”
On July 14, 2023, Nick married his wife Lesley Eardley at Camden Town Hall in London.
