The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) has published a South African technical specification (SATS) which enables local government and communities to implement a framework to prepare for and manage the impact of climate change. SATS 14092 (2023): Adaptation to climate change – Requirements and guidance on adaptation planning for local governments and communities, is the local version of the global ISO TS 14092 standard, to support local governments and communities to adapt to climate change based on vulnerability, impact and risk assessments.
